History

Edward W. Martin, Esq. graduated in 1990 from Montclair State University, with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting. Mr. Martin then attended Seton Hall University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1993. While at Seton Hall, Mr. Martin was a director of the Seton Hall Law Moot Court Board.

From 1993 through 1994, Mr. Martin served as the law secretary to the Honorable Amos C. Saunders, Presiding Judge, Chancery Division, Passaic County. After a one-year term, Mr. Martin entered private practice. Since October of 1994, Mr. Martin has maintained a diverse practice, representing individuals, small businesses and corporations.

Law Practice concentrating in commercial and residential real estate transactions, commercial business transactions, the drafting of estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney and advanced health care directives, the administration of estates, criminal and municipal court defense work, municipal land use law, guardianships and litigation in the areas of family law, personal injury and general litigation. Has tried cases in medical malpractice, automobile negligence, guardianships, domestic violence and municipal court.

Receives regular appointments from Chancery Division, General Equity Part, Passaic and Essex counties to serve as court-appointed counsel for parties in Guardianship/Conservatorship cases, including appointments to become counsel for alleged incapacitated persons, Guardian and Guardian Ad Litem.
